Dear Sir, The Hague 16-06-2009
We are two teachers from The Netherlands who have attended the lecture of his Holiness in Amsterdam recently. We are very inspired by his teachings, and moved by the terrible fate of Tibetan people and children. We would like to support the TCV that can benefit the children in a special way within our profession as teachers.
We both run private soccer school and Swimming school for rich and privileged children here in our country and want to teach and help Tibetan children in India. Our plan is to sponsor TCV with sports equipment for the children like footballs T-shirts and shoes. And perhaps also children magazines like Donald Duck, to read. We understand there is no pool and little swimming at TCV, but want to offer other sports and exercises for the children.
Of course we understand the constant need of funds for TCV and we will try and find financial sponsors to help and support TCV but that is not our main concern or talent. We are teachers and would like to help the children to practice sport, and learn how western children enjoy sports with modern equipment and techniques.
We will try and find support in materials and equipment, and would like to bring these presents to the children personally in the spring of 2010.
We hope this idea is welcomed by the TCV authorities and is realistic to the needs and wishes of the young children living in TCV.
